Replacement Plastic Plate or Cover (For Some Older Models)

This is a replacement plastic plate for the top of some of the earlier model Drotto latches.

Please note that this replacement cover ships flat. This cover can be bent into place when installing onto the top of the latch (see instructions below). New mounting screws are included.

Compare this product photo with the plastic cover on your latch. Reference the location of the mounting holes, and the shape of the sides and bottom edges of the cover, and make sure they match the plastic cover on your latch. If you have a very early model latch with more triangular shaped cover with straighter edges, or non-rounded corners near the jaws, please email support@drottoproducts.com.

Installation Instructions:

1. Remove the screws from the top of your latch that are holding the plastic cover in place.
2. This replacement plastic comes flat. You will need to bend the plastic into place by using clamps to tighten the plastic cover against the top metal plate on the latch.
3. With the clamp partially tightened, start installing the new screws on one side of the plate first, working your way toward the center of the latch until all are tightened completely in place.
4. Make sure that all screws are fully seated into the cover and not sticking out. Screw heads that are sticking out of the recessed holes can cause damage to your hull. 
5. Use fine sandpaper to lightly sand down any burs or scratches that develop on the plastic cover over time.
